(Amsterdam Mixed Use Building)

The proposal was for a new mixed-use building located in a rapidly developing part of the Amsterdam harbor. Due to the remote location of the site, the project was to include housing with a number of commercial spaces from restaurants, shops, and a cinema. The project looked to traditional Dutch courtyard housing for inspiration. The creation of an extensive parklands within the project allows for vistas across the water to the central part of the city. Through a series of internal streets, the fabric of the city was looped vertically and horizontally, weaving both public and private functions together.
